Here are some takes on the XOXO kisses and hugs question:

My friend Alana asked her coworker the question:

and she said xs are kisses because XXX means you do more than hugging

Mio left a comment on the post and said: 

Really?! I was taught that X’s are hugs because that’s what your arms look like when you hug someone. O’s are kisses because that’s the shape your lips make when you kiss.

Any other takes?

Haha, my reasoning is like Mio’s, but flipped. The Os are hugs cuz when you hug someone, your arms make an O shape (from an aerial view).

yesterday my friend was reading me an email she wrote and at the end she said “kiss hug”. of course i JUMPED up and asked her if she has written kiss hug or if she had put an abbreviation and she said she had written “xo”. baha! but, she is from new zealand, and everything is upside down there, so who knows.
