Outsidelands 2009! Avett Brothers!
On Sunday, we geared up to attend day 3 of the largest music festival in San Francisco, Outsidelands . So big that even Justin Timberlake blogged about it (oh you get so much news from twitter). Steph got us tickets courtesy of the Avett Brothers who are her cousins, not to mentionĀ a bomb ass group who were playing on Sunday at the festival as well.
Apparently Saturday was blazing hot in SF and there were a TON of people who turned out to see the likes of Jason Mraz, Black Eyed Peas, Zion I, and Dave Matthews Band. On Sunday, it returned to it’s normal weather in August, as you can see from the picture below.

Ooh, kinda swanky with a view of the main stage & private bar (not free)

Intel had a cool set up at Outsidelands filled with blue haired people in white coats and blue edibles

We made some shrinky dinks courtesy of Toyota

Got in a photobooth CAR!

Food!

Tiffany hits a million line drives, and we wonder if she picked the wrong sport to play in high school

Sutro stage where Lenka was performing before the Avett Brothers.

Bob, Scott Avett, and Seth Avett during the beginning of their set

Always a good show

Scott (left) Seth (right)

Joe (cello) Bob (bass) Scott (banjo) Seth (guitar) rocking out
I had some good up close videos of some of their songs at the festival, but apparently I was too excited, and there is a lot of shaking
Does someone who has iMovie ‘09 want to use the stabilization feature to fix them for me? Here are some ones off YouTube:
This song is really pretty, listen to the words:
Check on Scott on the stomp drum. He’s playing the drum with his foot while on the guitar. Both Seth and Scott can play guitar, banjo, drums and keyboard…and they usually take a turn on each during their shows.

How cute is little Jesse??

Check out the crowd for Modest Mouse
Saturday was filled with lots of helping Tiffany fix up her house for her parent’s visit. I learned a lot about grout, tile, what a shop vac is, assembled a desk, did some sanding, attempted to hook up internet, assembled (well, failed) a mattress frame, ironed a bed skirt, took an inadvertent nap, watched Tiffany assemble a handle on the wrong side of a cabinet, etc.
When we first got there Friday night, Tiff asked me to paint a red rectangle on her wall so that she could see what the red looked like.

I took a little creative liberty and painted her a TV, which kind of looks like a UFO

They painted these bamboo using a transparency!!! how ridiculously awesome!
Oh! Friday also marked my first Amtrak ride
Putting that on my “Done in 2009″ list. BAM! Hope you guys had a good weekend as well!

Awesome pics! And why on earth does one need to iron a bedskirt?!
