Rain Rain Go Away—but I guess you’re gonna follow us to Mexico

Rain always makes me feel very thankful.

As I was driving home today I realized how fortunate I am to be able to drive home in a car, and how many people have to “weather the storm” when it pours like it did earlier today. Not only that, but I also passed numerous bus stops that are simply a sign on a pole with no roof and in an area like Berkeley, lots of people use public transportation.

My train of thought went to homeless people and I thought of the amount of water that was coming down and how so many of them would get sick between being wet and cold. I ended up taking the local roads and passed by the humane society that I used to foster kittens with and I kind of wondered about those tiny kittens that would be freezing after the rain and probably die.

What about kids whose parents have to work full-time to support their family and they have to walk home from school everyday? It was raining so hard today that an umbrella probably didn’t stop very much rain.

Thank you rain, for showing me what I have to be thankful for.
