YouTube is costing Google $1.5 million a day
This may be old news to some, but I just finished reading an article in an old Newsweek which says that due to the size of YouTube and the number of uploads it has to handle each day, it is losing approximately $1.5 million a day.
According to the article, Google is trying to decrease the size of the YouTube blackhole by signing agreements with Hollywood studios to get “premium content”. I’m not quite sure that it’s gonna work the way that they imagine it though, since I’m pretty positive that the Hollywood types are money hungry as well.
