Don’t forget about your reward points!
This weekend I just remembered that I have about 23,000 points saved up from my Citibank credit card. I’ve redeemed my points once for a $50 itunes gift card which cost 6,000 points.
I haven’t really figured out how I want to use my points yet, but I’ve been looking at maybe getting another itunes gift card so that I can buy some new movies or tv shows to watch on my flights since I’ve been traveling a lot and/or a Barnes & Noble gift card so that I can pick up a few books to read.
The new Freakonomics book –Superfreakonomics is out now, which I really want to read.
I know a lot of people who use their debit card a lot, and I’ll have to admit that for a good period of time I would use my debit card for purchases because this way I would always be able to see the money getting taken out of my account in order to curb my spending. I’m still charging my debit card on smaller purchases, mainly because usually I need to get cash back…
on that note, I’ve also realized that I never go to the bank anymore to get cash. I always get money from :
1) Trader Joes 2) Target 3) Post Office 4) Walgreens —-saves me a trip or two
OH! and a tip for people who always lose their receipts. Always use your debit card/credit card when you shop at Target because if you lose your receipt, they can find it and you won’t have to stress out about keeping your receipt to return something.
