How do they lay down crosswalk lines?

So the guy with the blowtorch is heating up the part where they lay down each white piece of …..something….don’t really know what it’s made of. (After doing some research I believe what they are using is called thermoplastic).

Interesting photo I didn’t know they used a heat release thermo plastic for this. Did you take any more picture of these workers?
