Traveling tips for Shanghai

1) Drivers don’t stop for you when you cross the street, especially if they’re making a right turn.

2) Bring tissues/napkins with you to restaurants — many places will charge you if you use the ones they provide. ( This is in an attempt to be greener as a country)

3) If you want to take leftover food to go, bring your own containers to put them in. Place may not provide the service.

4) Don’t drink the tap water, always drink bottled water.

5) General tip for hotels that I learned on this trip: Ask for rooms away from the elevator so that people don’t have to pass your room on their way down the hall or wait in front of your room as they wait for the elevator.

6) Have coins with you in case you need to/want to take the subway
