Getting ready to roll out some more tshirts!

December 3rd, 2009 seetee 1 comment

I’ve been on a creative roll lately so I’m thinking about rolling out a few new designs.

I will be putting a few previews up as I get closer to the final design on the Chunkytees Store , and the shirts will be available for pre-order when the design is completely finalized.

I’ve put up a design for a shirt that I’ve wanted to do for awhile. My apologies that it doesn’t encompass the general population, but as a point guard, my favorite part about playing basketball was “dishing” the ball and “dropping dimes” to my teammates for baskets. This shirt is for all the guards, and even posts who share the same feelings when they find that seam to thread the ball through the gap to their teammate for an easy basket.

The design is listed as “Coming Soon” because I haven’t yet decided what I want to put on the back of the shirt. Suggestions always welcome :-)

Also in the works is a quote-tee series which will have inspirational/truth-speaking quotes.

I have quote a few quotes in mind, so I may end up having to do a poll to figure out which ones should get printed.

After going to a bunch of Warriors games, I’ve been trying to find myself a Monta Ellis tshirt  that I like, but I haven’t even been able to find a jersey tee to sport. In the light of this, I’m working on a “Monta is my homeboy” tshirt so that I can have one for myself and maybe other Warriors fans will sport them as well.

CHUNKYTEES: Help the victims of Typhoon Morakot

August 16th, 2009 seetee No comments

Something that I’ve realized more and more lately is how disconnected many of us are in the United States when it comes to international news, because I sure am, though I shouldn’t speak for the general population of young people.

I’ll have to say that I’m pretty ashamed that all the while being in Korea, I had no idea how large the magnitude of Typhoon Morakot was in Taiwan until I got home and my mom was describing how the typhoon ripped through the southern parts of Taiwan, and how it has been one of the worst typhoons that Taiwan has ever seen, and could have created more damage than the typhoon in 1959.

Though most of my extended family lives in Taiwan, it’s not really that reason that compels me to try to raise money for this cause.

There’s something about seeing pictures or watching footage of people seeing their homes turned over or watching them cry as they mourn their loved ones or as they pray for the safe return of those that are currently missing that really gets to me. It’s the look on the elderly people’s faces as they watch what they have known their whole lives get swept away. It’s the tears streaming down mothers’ faces as they frantically search for their missing children and pray that they are ok.

Natural disasters can’t be helped, but people can be helped.

In a time of recession, giving definitely isn’t as easy, but when I think about the CDs that I have in my room, the computer that I’m typing on, the comforter that I sleep under, I know that I can let myself give because I will not miss that $20 as much as the victims miss their houses and what used to be security.
